Air Rifle Shooting...
Uses .177 lead pellets propelled by compressed air
A great introduction to the shooting sports – very safe and no loud noises when firing
Is an Olympic sport, an NCAA collegiate sport, a high school interscholastic sport, and a lot of fun!
Our practices are Mondays from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. (during the Sills Range Open Hours) and Fridays from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. (CVHS team practice before the range open hours). Practices are held at the Sills Air Range at the Arlington-Fairfax Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America; 14708 Mount Olive Road, Centreville, VA 20121. The Sills range is the second building on the left after you enter Izaak Walton.
Again, for anyone interested in learning about the sport and giving it a try, please feel free to stop by the range during during the range open hours on Friday nights (although it gets crowded and there may be a wait list for a shooting position), or during the open hours on Monday nights and one of the coaches and/or current members will be happy to get you set up. There is no cost for the first five visits and there is no obligation to join. All equipment needed is available and provided by the range. If you decide to join the CVHS Club, you will be expected/required to invest and purchase the minimum equipment. While the range does have loaner equipment available, it is used by other teams as well as the public.
